Hoi allemaal! (Hi everybody!) đ Welcome to the last week of July, we hope itâs been a great one! âď¸The past seven days were marked by the housing shortage. Dutch universities even warned international students against arriving, to avoid being left homeless in the streets. đđ  Itâll be interesting to see how the next semester will go, since the amount of internationals moving to the Netherlands has doubled since last year. Hopefully the grim housing situation doesnât scare them away! đŹOne group of (former) Dutchies who recently went international is the oil company, Shell, whoâs been raking in billions in profit, while the rest of us have struggled to make ends meet. đ¸ Very uncool, ShellâŚDutchies aren't only being gouged on high energy prices, they also paid âŹ1.7 million in damages from phishing scam calls in the last ten months. Ouch! đ With all these expenses, the Dutchies might want to consider working more to get some extra cash, since only half of the active workforce is currently employed on a part-time basis. On the other hand, the farmers of the Netherlands have been hard at work this week, as they continue protesting the governmentâs nitrogen policy. This time, theyâve also started lighting hay bales and manure on fire (with some lovely support from Mr. Trump across the ocean). đĽFinally, the age-old debate about Dutch fraternity culture has also lit up recently, with an Amsterdam-based association reportedly calling women âcum bucketsâ (pardon our French) in a big speech. Classy, boys. đWell, those were some of our top stories this week, which one is your favourite? â¨Tot ziens! (bye!)Juni đ @DutchReview
